I photographed this barbershop in Cookeville, Tennessee for a class assignment my professor calls "Dig". We pick a subject from a hat, I chose military/veterans, then narrow it down to a specific subject. So I did my research and found Jonathan Williams who is a Marine Corps and National Guard Veteran who opened a barber shop, appropriately named Veterans Barber Shop, after he retired.

Jonathan Williams cuts the hair of one of his loyal clients, John Godwin. John stopped in to get his hair cut before heading off to play a round of golf on April 1, 2016.

Jonathan opened Veterans Barber Shop on his own in 2006. About a year later he hired Mike Daniels (far right) then Zach Qualls (middle) joined the team later in 2014. Since then it has just been them as a three man team successfully running the shop.

Jonathan Williams used to cut hair while in the Marines then decided it would be a good way to retire.
